I agree that Defoe is playing better, ie; more selflessly. That I reckon is why other players are getting more and better scoring opportunities. His play is becoming less direct and therefor less predictable and harder for teams to defend against. His off the ball movement is creating gaps for mido and midfielders to exploit. Jenas is showing all those Spurs and newky fans who doubted him that the staff at the lane know more about football & players than we do. Next week he'll have the chance to show whether at this early stage he's capable of filling in for the mighty Davids. He'll have his work cut out. King & the England under 21 captain looked exactly what they are: sheer class.
manure's goal was a once in a blue moon gift from The England No1. Our goal was pure quality from a player growing in stature by the game. I know which team was happiest. Onwards and upwards.

I agree defoe had good game. He played hard and got involved. Davids and dawson were a close second to kings motm display. JJ played with a lot more confidence. Its a shame jol needs to play davids on left because he can control the game in cm and give carrick more freedom. But jol is trying to accomadate jj because davids can at least play very well on the left where as jj needs to play in his favourable cm position to build confidence. So you can understand why jol does it.

I think we should all calm down a bit.
Traditionally arsenal have one up on us, but this season is looking good.For the first time in years I think we might not get battered by every team in the entire universe , cos we are that bad .
hopefully ugly fat jol can stand behind fattie robinson in goal and use his teeth to keep any shots out.
That way the mighty arsenal might only score 15 or 16 against our 3 all own goals.

jenas played excellent yesterday! He worked hard defensively, scored an exellent goal, and passed the ball better than before. He really starts to get som confience, and it shows on the pitch. I think Defoe have to work harder than he did. King and Dawson playes like veterans and Rooney/van Niestelrooy had not many chanses
