Spurs will extend WHL capacity

Spurs wont be moving away from White Hart Lane but will be extending their current ground's capacity, FootballCentralUK can reveal.

I have received a personal tip-off by the same source that revealed to me that Spurs were set to buy Edgar Davids, something i reported before any other site.

I cant give drastic details but i can confirm they will be extending all three stands to make a near 60.000 seater. More details to follow here and on Forums (access by clicking on link in sidebar).

'all three stands'?

have you ever seen a football stadium?

Ps.

i revealed that we were going to sign Edgar Davids before anyone!

I'm sure you did, however i speak the truth.

Yes all three stands will be modified in some way, obviously some lesser than others.

i assume the west stand is untouched?

It's not certain at the moment. I only got brief details. I've waited for a month to break this news article and here it is.

Any questions will be answered iff possible

Many of the buildings around the ground are listed which means we cannot extend the ground to 60,000. We would've had plans for that earlier if we could. If i'm wrong i'm pleased cos we have such a huge fan base.

its not up to the club regarding expanding the stadium - if the transport links are not improved then planning permission will not be granted - its as simple as that - there is no transport upgrade planned therefore there is NO stadium extension

I'm speaking on behalf of my source now. There is some land that is available behind the ground. This man was approached by Spurs and was asked whether he'd sell up. He happily accepted.

More details to follow

Daniel Levy did not sound too optimistic about Stadium redevelopment in the Annual report statement a couple of weeks ago;
what could have changed in that short time?

At 6:59 pm, Anonymous Anonymous said...

The fact is, is that Levy won't commit money to a redelvopment unless the local infrastructure is dramatically improve such as the tube network.
As anyones knows who regulary visits WHL, the only way in is to drive which can be a nightmare at times

I wise man once said, that those who know do not speak and those who speak do not know.....

Is this the case with this forum??

is it just me or does white hart lane have '4' stands?

this is rubbish - the stadium cant be modified if it increases crowd numbers because it is the councils view that the transport system wont be able to take the additional numbers - the council have to give planning permission for any redevelopment of this kind - why do u think we havent done it up to now!!!!!!!!

Exactly, the local council must fix the transport system as they cannot lose Spurs. If they do the area will have nothing left.

I can confirm that Levy said what he said about the Olympic Stadium's availability to push the council to solve the problem quickly so that we can release the plans.

Do you think Levy would come out and say what he said without asking anything? He knew, im sure, that the Stadium would be used for athletics.

I find that hard to believe: " 60,000" WHL capacity right now is just below 37,000. Where are they going to find room for 20,000+ seats!!??

At 7:06 pm, Blogger News Team said...

Listen guys, in life you chose what to believe. I am a Spurs fan myself, thats why most stories on the site are about Spurs.

So i only want the good of the club. Please do not doubt my intelligence, not appreciated.

I meant all four stands, meaning one wouldnt be modified too much, just a little so it doesnt look out of date. The East Stand will undergo the most modification

the transport links are nothing to do with the council thats up to london transport and network rail -

At 7:08 pm, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i know that there is permission for the east stand to be redeveloped to total capacity of 50,000 but thats it!!!

And do you think London want a big area to become deserted ahead of Olympic games?

The area will undergo a general 'facelift' ahead of the 2012 Games. Facilities will be built in the area.

Hence the reason we've chosen now to revamp the ground.

To anon 7.04

We havent ever sold all the season tickets though have we? And we havent filled the ground up for a friendly in a long time either, have we?

Another anonymous said that he's changed his mind in a few short weeks. Well no, i said before that i've had the details for about 1-2 months. Which means he's had it mind for ages. Dont you remember those pics that got leaked on SC?

So long as we stay at WHL, I'm happy. It's a brillant stadium and as good as any other!

At 7:16 pm, Anonymous Anonymous said...

we will never leave WHL i have said in other posts that we should fill the corners in on the east stand we would get another 2000 and then go for a third tier and do maybe a stand at a time build as we go and keep the money for players. we need good players to fill the ground.

Will they turn around the pitch?

There have been talks about making South and North Stand the main stands, and East and West will be behind the goals.
